After Vic Darchinyan (34-2-1, 27 KOs) retained his WBC/WBA super flyweight titles with a battering of Rodrigo Guerrero (13-2-1, 9 KOs) over twelve rounds at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California.
Darchinyan sent a message to WBA-interim champion Nonito Donaire. Darchinyan was knocked out by Donaire in five rounds in 2007.
Darchinyan told Showtime's Steve Farhood that he doesn't want to talk about Donaire any more. He think the Filipino champion is scared to make a rematch.
"I don't think they are going to fight me. He's scared. Here are two belts. If you already knocked him out, why not come and get these two belts. I don't want to mention his name anymore. It's not fair. I want to move up and fight better champions," Darchinyan said.

Mayweather: Mosley Will End Up Like Hatton, De La Hoya
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is planning to dominate WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley on May 1 in Las Vegas. Mayweather fired off some verbal jabs in response to Mosley predicting a win by knockout.
Mayweather wants to make an example of Mosley by dominating the action.
"40 have tried and 40 have failed. Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez. They all failed. Mosley is no different. Mosley is just an HBO fighter. He's an HBO fighter. I'm a pay-per-view fighter. I'm giving Shane Mosley the biggest payday of his entire career. After I get done with Shane Mosley, he's going right back to HBO. I beat De La Hoya and I started my own company. Mosley beat Oscar De La Hoya twice and now he works for him as an employee," Mayweather said.
He didn't stop there. Mayweather unleashed some more about Mosley's past with the BALCO scandal. Both fighters have agreed to take part in random drug testing during the training period.
"Mosley always talks about Antonio Margarito cheating but he [Mosley] was using steroids. Mosley was using steroids. How can you talk about someone else cheating when you were using steroids? - Mayweather said.
Mayweather feels the public is overhyping Mosley's big win over Antonio Margarito.
"People talk about his win over Margarito but they forget about the fight right before that with Mayorga. That was an even fight until the final round. Margarito stands there and gets hit. They bring up Margarito but they forget he struggled with Mayorga. They forget he was outboxed by Miguel Cotto," Mayweather said.

Freddie Roach: "We'll Knock Floyd Mayweather Out"
Freddie Roach wants WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to get a piece of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roach is tired of Mayweather's trash talk on Pacquiao, and says his fighter is tired of it too.
They are very angry over Mayweather's comments that suggest Pacquiao is possibly using performance enhancing drugs. Roach wants Pacquiao to get his hands on Mayweather so the Filipino champion can knock him out.
"We're not happy with his remarks and Manny really wants to fight him in the future because of the remarks he made," Roach said. "Manny, sometimes when he's shadowboxing, he shows me how Mayweather fights and how he'll take care of the problem, and I've never seen that before. He's trying to ruin our reputations and so forth, but we want to fight him and we'll knock him out."
Top Rank's Bob Arum doesn't think Mayweather ever intended to fight Pacquiao and used the issue of random drug testing to avoid the contest. Arum predicts Pacquiao would give Mayweather a very bad beating.
"We don't have to be geniuses to know what they were trying to do. They were trying to get into Manny's head so he'd be discombobulated," Arum said. "Mayweather against Manny is a no-contest, no contest. Manny would wipe the ring with Floyd Mayweather."

Rodel Mayol vs. Omar Nino Romero Ruled a Technical Draw
At the Coliseo Olimpico de la UG in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Omar Nino Romero (28-3, 11KOs) and Rodel Mayol (26-4, 20KOs) fought to a three round technical draw. Mayol keeps his WBC junior flyweight title.
The ending was very controversial and the announcers, at first, called Romero the winner by TKO.
Nino did well in the first round as the two boxed. In the second, Mayol was landing some heavy punches that put Nino in trouble. Nino began to throw back some big punches to send the crowd into a frenzy. They traded punches with Mayol getting the better of the action.
During the third, there was a weird situation where Mayol got hit with a low blow and the ref was coming in to pull Nino back during the finish. When Rodel got hit with the low blow, he dropped his hands in pain and Nino stepped on his foot and hit him with a left hook that knocked him out cold.
As Nino was throwing that hook, the ref was trying to pull him back to warn him for the low blow - or at least that's what the replay showed. A very controversial ending. Mayol was taken out on a stretcher.

Edgar Sosa Warns Omar Nino: "Watch Mayol's Head"
Ahead of this Saturday's fight for the WBC junior flyweight title, former champion Edgar Sosa has warned Omar Nino to watch out for the intentional head clashes by the champion, Rodel Mayol.
Sosa lost his title to Mayol last November in two rounds. There was a bad clash of heads in the second round that split open the side of Sosa's face and sent him down. He never recovered and was stopped within a few moments.
Sosa needed surgery to repair several fractures on his face from the head clash. He is still recovering and plans to return to boxing very soon. He later filed a protest to overturn the TKO decision but lost.
Sosa wants Nino to bring the title back to Mexico.
"I wish him well. As a Mexican, I'd like for Nino to regain the title for Mexico, I hope he does," said Sosa to ESTO. "Mayol did not beat me and the whole world saw it on television. I felt disgust at the way they took the championship from me. If Mayol wins, I hope he does it in an honest and clean way"
"[Nino] has to always stay at a distance and keep moving, side to side, which he's good at. Do not enter from the front so Mayol's head can not hurt you. Mayol has a history of hurting a lot of opponents with his head, like [Ivan] Calderon, who was cut in two fights on his head, and they could not have been accidental. He has a history of being a dirty fighter."

Pacquiao wants Mayweather so badly, says Roach
Trainer Freddie Roach says WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao wants a piece of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the worst way.
Pacquiao wants to pay Floyd back for all of the comments the Mayweather clan had made that attacked his characted by connecting him to performance enhancing drugs.
"Manny is really upset about what Mayweather said about him. He tried to defame his character. I've never seen Manny dislike somebody before in my life. He shows me how he'd beat Mayweather. He immitates Mayweather. He knows what he's all about and Mayweather I don't see it he was great at one time but he's slipped alot. He struggled with Oscar. He struggled for 6 rounds with Ricky Hatton. Pacquiao destroyed both guys and didn't lose a second of either round, I just don't see it.," Roach told the Leave it in The Ring Radio Show.
Roach told the radio hosts a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will happen, but only if Floyd drops his demand for Olympic style drug testing. Pacquiao has to beat Joshua Clottey on March 13. Mayweather has to beat Shane Mosley on May 1.
"He wants Mayweather so badly. They both have to win their fights of course. The thing is we're not gonna give Mayweather any edge at all though. He wants Olympic style drug testing, all this bulls**t. We're not gonna give him nothing because if you give him something he become bigger than the commision, bigger than the sport, it's like giving the first 2 rounds away," Roach said.
"We'll go by the Nevada Comission rules, by the sanctioning body rules and that's the rules we're gonna go by. If he doesn't want to fight us [under] those rules then he can go fight some girl."

Roach: I'll Be Disappointed if Khan Doesn't Stop Malignaggi
Trainer Freddie Roach was very upset during a recent appearance on the Leave it in The Ring Radio Show. When the subject of Paul Malignaggi came up, Roach went off. Malignaggi is going to fight WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan on May 15.
Roach became upset over Malignaggi's recent comments where he disclosed his his thoughts about Khan and performance enhancing drugs. Malignaggi thinks Khan is clean but admits the thought crossed his mind because Khan trains under the same team as Manny Pacquiao, who Malignaggi suspects is on performance enhancing drugs.
"I don't think we really want fight Paulie though cause he's such an assh**e. I used to respect this guy and like him, but he opens his mouth and says Amir is on steroids now because he trains with Freddie Roach. I might smack him when I see him, I might, I'm pissed off about that with him," Roach said.
"I feel like pulling Amir out of the fight and telling him [Malignaggi] go get a payday somewhere else because there's no payday here. You've knocked out five guys in your career, it must've been five girls. If Amir doesn't knock him out I'll be very dissapointed."

Joshua Clottey: "I Will Wear Manny Pacquiao Down"
Former champion Joshua Clottey has no idea what all the fuss is about. He had a few setbacks against fighters like Carlos Baldomir, Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto. He doesn't think about those defeats.
He still views himself as an unbeaten fighter. Clottey tells Lem Satterfield of AOL FanHouse that he won't view a win over Pacquiao as an upset, but just another win in the bank. Clottey faces Pacquiao on March 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
"I've never left the ring feeling like I lost. I feel like I'm undefeated. If I win this fight against Manny Pacquiao, I will never feel like I beat the best fighter in the world," said Clottey. "I will feel like I had a fight with Manny Pacquiao, the best fighter out there, and I won," said Clottey. "So even if I beat Pacquaio, and people talk about it like it's a big upset, I'll say, 'It's not an upset, but a win.'"
Some people treat Manny Pacquiao like a super hero. Not Clottey. He sees him as just another fighter and plans to beat him as such.
"Manny Pacquiao is a human being, like everyone else. He's just a really good fighter who is out there now who is No. 1 now," said Clottey. "I don't know how he's coming to fight me, but I can tell you that I'm a different fighter altogether than anyone else that he's faced. I'm a really difficult fighter, you see."
Clottey understands what he brings to the table, and what Pacquiao brings to the table. Pacquiao has the big advantage in speed. Clottey plans to stay in there and work Pacquiao over to wear him down. He wants to punish the Filipino fighter enough to slow him down.
"Pacquiao is coming from a smaller weight to welterweight, and he's going to have an advantage in speed already because he's a smaller guy. I can't throw a lot of punches like Pacquiao will do. But I will connect enough to make him slow down and wear down, and bring his speed down," said Clottey.

Ariza: Pacquiao's performance will frighten Mayweather
During a recent conversation with Gareth Davies of The Daily Telegraph, Alex Ariza, Manny Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach, said a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. may never happen at all.
Besides the bad blood between the fighters, there is also the bad blood between the promoters, and the sour taste left in the mouths of both sides after the prior negotiations fell apart.
“I really don’t think so [that the fight will happen]. I don’t think it will be anything to do with Manny and Mayweather in the end. I think it will come down to the relations between Bob Arum and Golden Boy. Bob Arum was seriously fed up of the messing for this fight – and wanted to get it signed,” Ariza said.
“They don’t want to mess around with Mayweather. I think for him it is a case of whether he humbles himself and raises his position walks into Golden Boy’s offices and just signs the papers. There isn’t anything to say about it. If Mayweather wants the fight he is going to have to bite his tongue and go with whatever is stipulated in the contract.”
Ariza doesn't think Mayweather will want the fight. Especially after watching what Pacquiao does to Joshua Clottey on March 13 in Texas. Mayweather returns on May 1 against Shane Mosley.
“Will Mayweather do that [Fight Manny]? I think he won’t. Not once he sees what Manny does against Joshua Clottey. That’s going to instil even more fear into Mayweather.”

Morel Says Penalosa Hurt Him, Pacquiao Claims Robbery
The new WBO interim-bantamweight champion Eric Morel is giving veteran Gerry Penalosa a lot of credit. Morel won a very close split decision over Penalosa on Saturday night at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Morel controlled most of the action in the first half of the fight. Penalosa began to break Morel down and took over the second half of the fight. Penalosa seemed to get fired up after suffering two head clashes in the sixth round that opened up bad cuts above both eyes.
Morel credits Penalosa's body work. He said Penalosa hurt him with several body shots. He thought Penalosa would get tired in the late rounds but instead it was Morel who got tired. He managed to survive by moving and boxing.
"I am a little exhausted, but we win. Penalosa is a veteran and he put a lot of pressure on me. I give him a lot of credit," Morel told El Nuevo Dia. "He hit me two or three times to the body and it really hurt me. But my lateral movement and my reach were the keys to my victory."
WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao was sitting ringside. He thought Penalosa was jobbed by the decision. He told several reporters at ringside -"Gerry won that fight. Gerry was the winner."

Mayweather takes verbal shots at Pacquiao & Mosley
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is all over the place; doing promotional work to hype the May 1 mega-fight with WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley. During a recent radio interview with ESPN 101, Mayweather spoke about the negotiations falling apart with Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather claims to have agreed to all of Pacquiao's terms, but the Filipino fighter did not agree to his terms. Mayweather wanted random blood tests, which Pacquiao was willing to take, but not under the timeline proposed by Floyd. Mayweather wanted the testing to continue until 14-day before the fight. Pacquiao wanted the tests to continue until 24-days before the fight.
"Mayweather was supposed to face Manny Pacquiao. There was a clause in my contract that said both fighters need to take random blood tests because not everything shows up in a urine test. His clause of the contract was for every pound that I weigh over 147, I have to pay $10 million dollars. I agreed but he didn't agree to my terms," Mayweather said.
Mayweather doesn't think Pacquiao is unbeatable. He said the Filipino champion needs to fight him, but the situation is not the same in the other direction. Mayweather says that he doesn't need Pacquiao.
"How can you be indestructible with three losses and he's been knocked out twice?
The new Pacquiao? The one who don't want to take the test? All roads lead to Floyd Mayweather. I don't need Manny Pacquiao. For him to get his biggest payday he needs me. With or without Pacquiao I will make $200 million easy, with or without him," Mayweather said.
The hype for Mayweather-Mosley began last September during Mayweather's fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins rushed the ring in the post-fight. Mosley and Mayweather had words before a live pay-per-view audience. Mayweather is not made at Mosley. He said Mosley is not the person to blame. He called him the puppet of Bernard Hopkins, who Mayweather feels was the actual person who instigated that entire situation.
"He can't be disrespectful by getting inside the squared circle like that. That's going outside the line. Getting inside the ring like that can get your @ss smacked. But I respect Shane Mosley. Shane Mosley didn't want to do that. If he's Bernard Hopkins' puppet then I understand. If Shane is Bernard's puppet then I understand," Mayweather said.

Pacquiao will fight Mayweather-Mosley winner, says Roach
Trainer Freddie Roach says Manny Pacquiao, should he beat Joshua Clottey on March 13, will be more than happy to fight the winner of May's mega-bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley. Roach sees the winner of Mayweather-Mosley as the best candidate for Pacquiao's next fight.
Roach told BoxingScene.com that Mayweather should win the fight but it's going to be very tough for him.
"I like Shane. He's a good guy but I think Mayweather will outbox him. I think Mayweather will win that fight but it's a very competitive, good fight and I would like to see that fight," Roach told BoxingScene.
If Mayweather wins, Roach says a fight with Pacquiao will only happen under the rules of the governing commission. They will not agree to Mayweather's demand for unrestricted random drug testing. Pacquiao did tell BoxingScene's Robert Morales that he would consider taking random drug tests if the contract called for the random tests to stop 30-days prior to the fight. Pacquiao would also take a blood test immediately after the fight was over.
Mayweather is more concerned about the testing that takes place inside the 30-day time period. Mayweather has placed the test demands on Mosley, who accepted the terms. Mayweather and Pacquiao were unable to agree on the drug testing terms when they were negotiating for a tentative fight in March. Roach does think Mayweather fight will happen but under the right circumstances.
"When Mayweather loses a little more money gambling and he needs it, I think he'll fight us. I would like to see Pacquiao fight him under the commission rules and the counseling bodies but not under Floyd Mayweather's rules because who the f**k is he? We don't work for him," Roach said.
Mosley will be an easier fight to make because he doesn't care about random drug testing. He will fight Pacquiao with or without a clause that calls for random testing. Roach would love to have Pacquiao take that fight if Shane pulls off the upset.
"Shane would love to fight Manny. If he beats Mayweather...if he wins, we will fight him and that will be a great fight. Shane is a very good fighter and I respect him quite a bit," Roach said.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Talks Manny Pacquiao and Steroids
Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently spoke to DJ Whoo Kid about his upcoming fight with WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley on May 1 and the broken negotiations to make a deal for a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather said the Mosley fight is done for May 1. He plans to start training very soon and the pre-fight hype will begin in the next few days.
"Me and Shane Mosley is May 1st. It's just another obstacle that I have to accomplish and it's just another obstacle that I have to cross. You go with what makes business sense first. At first Pacquiao, that fight made a lot of sense. So you go to second option when the first option don't work," Mayweather said.
Mayweather was in talks to fight Manny Pacquiao on March 13. The two fighters could not agree on the contract clause for random drug tests. Pacquiao agreed to take an unlimited amount of urine tests and random bloods tests until 24 days before the fight. Mayweather wanted blood tests until 14 days before the fight. Talks broke off and Pacquiao signed to fight Joshua Clottey.
Mayweather pointed at Pacquiao's fast rise over the last few years as the reason he took a hard line with the random drug tests. He said Pacquiao was an ordinary fighter who became a pound for pound sensation as he got older.
"What people don't know about the sport of boxing. In a fighter's career, a fighter starts off good and he's good until the end of his career or a fighter starts off good and then goes downhill towards the end of his career. A fighter doesn't start off like Manny Pacquiao, just ordinary, and then once he gets over the age of 25 he becomes and extraordinary fighter. It just doesn't work like that in this sport of boxing," Mayweather said.
Mosley has agreed to take random urine and blood tests for the May 1 clash. Mayweather plans to request random drug tests for every future opponent. He claims it's his way to clean up the sport of boxing.
"I'm just trying to clean up sports period. He's not the only one who has to take a random drug test. I do too. I never met anyone in sports history who didn't want to take a $25 million dollar drug test. All drugs don't show up in your urine. All I say is to random drug test me or any other fighters. At one particular time in the sport of boxing they didn't take HIV tests. Now they take HIV tests. In one particular time in the sport of boxing, you weighed in the morning of the fight and now you weigh in the day before the fight," Mayweather said.

Manny Pacquiao Gives His Sparring Partner a Beating
WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao began sparring in the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California on Thursday. Under the guidance of trainer Freddie Roach, Pacquiao sparred with Bryan Brooks in four rounds. Pacquiao dished out a beating to Brooks, who was used by Shane Mosley as a sparring partner in the past.
Roach says Pacquiao did some real damage in the four rounds of sparring. He battered Brooks good. The hall-of-fame trainer doesn't see Brooks coming back as a sparring partner in the future.
“[Pacquiao] did really well. He’s already following the game plan. This was a good sparring partner for Shane Mosley but I don’t think I’m going to bring him back… he got hurt a few times. Manny was too much for him,” Roach said to ABS CBN News. "He did whatever he wanted too. He was playing with him a little bit. He likes to play with his audience a little bit."
Pacquiao will defend his title against Joshua Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas on March 13. Pacquiao doesn't see Clottey as an easy fight.
“Clottey is strong and sturdy. He can take a punch and has a good defense. This is not going to be an easy fight,” said Pacquiao.
Roach once again stated that Pacquiao's speed will be the difference in the fight and the key to victory.
“Don’t stand in front of him. Use lateral movement, in-and-outs and side-to-side pretty much because he’s a big strong guy but again boxing ability is going to win this, not size,” said Roach.

Roach: "Pacquiao Wants Mayweather in The Worst Way"
Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach says his fighter wants a piece of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in "the worst way." Pacquiao is tired of Mayweather's trash talk and wants to settle things in the ring.
After watching numerous tapes, Roach has put together the perfect plan to combat Mayweather's style - if the fight ever comes around.
"[Pacquiao] wants to shut him [Mayweather] up. I want the public to know that,” Roach told Gareth Davies of the Telegraph Sport. When fight time [with Mayweather] eventually comes around…we’ll have the perfect game plan. There are I’ve found some things he does really well. He’s good. Whatever personal things there are…I talk **** about him, he talks **** about me, but I think we have respect for each other.”
Roach himself has no issues with Mayweather's trash talk. He thinks it's good for selling fights. The fighters are still at odds over the issue that caused their fight to fall apart - random drug testing. Mayweather will not back away from his demand for random drug testing. Pacquiao's side will not agree to that demand. Pacquiao will face Joshua Clottey on March 13. Mayweather will likely face Shane Mosley on May 1.
“I like Floyd Jr. I have no problems with his b******, or trash talk, it sells fights, but if we get him in a ring, we’ll beat him. I studied him. He sucks you in, he let Ricky Hatton win a couple of rounds, gave Hatton confidence, let Hatton come after him, and Hatton was all set up. You have to be very, very intelligent when you fight him,” Roach said.

Margarito: "I'm The Only One Who Can Beat Pacquiao"
Former three time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito is training for his long awaited ring return on the March 13 pay-per-view undercard to Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
Sitting on the sidelines for nearly a year, Margarito is expected to receive his boxing license in the next couple of days from the Texas Commission.
Margarito's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, told BoxingScene.com last week that a Pacquiao-Margarito showdown is possible for the summer. Arum said Margarito will need to look very good against his comeback opponent Carson Jones, and Pacquiao has to do his part by beating Clottey.
The "Tijuana Tornado" is very motivated to return. His license was revoked last February after a plaster-like substance was discovered is his handwraps prior to the fight with Shane Mosley on January 24. Margarito really wants the opportunity to fight Pacquiao. He says styles make fights and believes his style will overwhelm Pacquiao.
"The truth is I feel very motivated to get back in a big event, with over 50,000 people in Texas, where a lot of those people will be of Mexican descent," said Margarito from his training camp in Tijuana to The Record. "I hope to earn that chance against Pacquiao to prove that I am the only one who can beat him."
In his last fight, Margarito was dominated and knocked out by Shane Mosley. He points to several reasons for the loss, including weight struggles and his body was still feeling the damage of his July 2008 war with Miguel Cotto.
"We complied with the rules of the Commission (California) and did not fight in Mexico as previously assumed. A year without punishment has helped me relax, because after that hard fight with Cotto, I made the mistake of grabbing someone just as hard or even harder in Mosley, and I was not 100% yet."
"I've been training, I just hope to get my license now and focus squarely on the fight that lies ahead. I am eager to return, it's time for the 'Tornado' to return."

Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan To Train Together For Bouts
Freddie Roach, trainer for Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan, confirmed to BoxingScene.com that both fighters will train together over the next few weeks at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California.
Pacquiao defends his WBO welterweight title against Joshua Clottey on March 13. Khan is scheduled to return in late March or early April with a defense of his WBA junior welterweight title. The opponent has not been set.
"They both have fights around the same time. They will be training together and they will be sparring," Roach told BoxingScene.
Since Khan hooked up with Roach, he shared several training camps with Pacquiao. After recently leaving Frank Warren and signing a promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions, Khan is expected to make a full move to America, where he plans to build his name.

Mayweather Will Demand Random Drug Tests For Mosley
The famous clause that tore apart the negotiations to make a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao - will once again come up as Golden Boy Promotions will attempt to finalize a deal for Mayweather to fight Shane Mosley.
Mayweather will demand random blood and urine tests for all of his future fights, according to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.
Mayweather and Pacquiao were never able to reach a deal because the two fighters could not agree on the cut-off date for the random tests to detect performance enhancing drugs. During the BALCO scandal, Mosley admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs, inadvertently, before the 2003 rematch with Oscar De La Hoya. Mosley has never tested positive for any illegal drugs.
“Whoever fights Floyd Mayweather in the future, that person will be subjected to random blood and urine testing,” Ellerbe said to The Grand Rapids Press. “I don’t care who he fights, that will be the case. Floyd is out front, championing this effort to change the way the sport is handled in the future.”

Joshua Clottey: "I Am Ready For Pacquiao, Bring It On!"

Joshua Clottey is not worried about the deadly reputation of Manny Pacquiao. He plans to pull off the upset of the century when he faces Pacquiao on March 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
He sees a win over Pacquiao as something that will finally put his name on the map. Clottey wants to send shockwaves throughout the boxing world.
“People have started doubting if I am ready for this deadly fighter but I keep telling them if he is good, I am better. If Pacquiao beats me, it won’t be news but if I beat him, the whole world’s attention would be on me," Clottey said to The Mail of Ghana. "I will use him to get the fame and attention I deserve. A win is all I know now and it won’t change anytime soon. March 13th is my time with destiny and somebody like Pacman can’t stand in my way."
Clottey, the much bigger man, will be the underdog in the fight. He doesn't mind playing that role. The only thing on his mind is to upset Pacquiao and take his WBO welterweight title. He wants to make it a physical fight for Pacquiao and doesn't plan to do anything but move forward to press the action.
“Manny Pacquiao is boxing's number one pound-for-pound attraction. Defending his title against me is not just a great event, it's a great fight, and we can showcase that to the fullest. We're going to rock on March 13th like it was the Super Bowl," Clottey said.
If you are to ask Pacman today, if he thinks I am a cheap nut that can be cracked just like that, the answer would be a big no because he also knows the stuff I am made off. As for fears, my fans can entertain but if you come from that part of Africa where you are taught to embrace challenges even when it looks suicidal then a date with Pacquiao shouldn’t be a hard nut to crack. I am ready, bring it on”.

Miguel Cotto-Yuri Foreman is Close For June 12 Clash
According reports coming out of Puerto Rico, a deal for Miguel Cotto to make a jump to 154-pounds to challenge unbeaten WBA champion Yuri Foreman is very close. An announcement by the fighters' mutual promoter, Top Rank, can happen as early as next week.
The fight would take place on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade - June 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Murray Wilson, Foreman's manager, expected to land a fight with Manny Pacquiao, but the Filipino champion rejected his man and instead agreed to fight Joshua Clottey on March 13. The original plan was for Cotto-Foreman clash.
"We have returned to the original plan, which was a defense against Cotto in June," Wilson told Primera Hora. "It is the fight that Miguel wanst and so do we.
It would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to fight against someone who we consider a great champion. We still don't have anything signed to fight against Miguel, but on a scale from the 1 to the 10 - I would have say that the possibility of the fight taking place is a 9."
