Has Pacquiao’s training sessions become ‘The Event’ that everyone wants to see?

With each week of training, comes more excitement and amazing news from the Wild Card Gym. In addition to the amazement of Pacquiao’s current level of conditioning, there’s a continual flow of Hollywood stars visiting and some top notch sparring partners. Has Pacquiao’s training sessions become “The Event” that everyone wants to see?


Pacquiao’s Conditioning

With Pacquiao already in “fight night” shape, the buzz coming out of the Wild Card Gym is deafening. Check out what they are saying:

“Manny is ready to fight this Saturday, He did 15 rounds in the mitts without even a sip of water,” Alex Ariza, Manila Bulletin

“No problem, I feel very good, “After only two weeks in the gym, I already felt great” Manny Pacquiao, Manila Bulletin

“He’s getting rave reviews on his performance in the gym, and everybody is saying they can’t believe how great he’s looking. He can [even] fight tomorrow.” Bob Arum, ABS-CBN News

Sparring Partners

With his conditioning level already being high, Manny has been able to take on some top notch sparring partners who have also marveled at his abilities.

“He's got the power, the speed… He never gets tired,” Abdullai Amidu, ABS-CBN News
Abdullai Amidu is an undefeated welterweight from Ghana who 18-0 with 17 wins coming by way of knockouts.

According to ABS-CBS News, Steve Forbes will be coming in next week to spar with Manny. Forbes was the former sparring partner for Oscar De La Hoya who also took Oscar to the distance when they fought in 2008.

More Hollywood Stars

It’s very exciting for all Pacquiao fans to see the respect and admiration he gets from other celebrities. The Wild Card Gym is turning into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with all the stars that are showing up to see Manny “Mr. Hollywood” Pacquiao in action.

The latest star to appear was Academy Award winner Robert Duvall best known for his roles in “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now”. Duvall was taken back by Manny’s skills, “He’s very focused in a tranquil way.”
