Floyd Mayweather Jr according to reports is insistent on fighting Pacquiao at 154lbs. Are you kidding me? Come on Floyd, are you scared? From all the talk I have been hearing out of your camp is that you are going to, "whoop him silly." If that's the case, why not "whoop" him at 147lbs? At 154lbs you are making Manny have to eat at McDonald's for 8 weeks and get on the bench press. And what's with the pillow gloves that you're wanting to use Mr Mayweather?
It's beginning to look like the cards are stacking up against Manny as it pertains to the elements of this fight. Pacquiao is recovering from a broken ear drum, and an injured hand that he sustained during the Cotto fight. Arum is pressing for a March fight so that it won't interfere with the elections in the Philippines. According to Freddie Roach, and many in the camp, March is too soon.
Mayweather wants to use 10 ounce gloves, pillows. Pacquiao wants to use 8 ounce gloves, so there are a growing amount of obstacles that were bound to happen. Everyone was reporting that this fight was a done deal, and this and that, but nothing can be further from the truth. These issues will have to be worked out, and as of right now I don't see it happening over night.
It's curious to this writer why Pacquiao is the one that has to make all of these concessions. Where are the concessions on Mayweather's part? He's going to make over 20 million dollars for this fight, so when does he bend some? Does this prove what all of Manny's fans have been screaming about? Is Floyd Mayweather Jr scared to
fight Manny Pacquiao?
Mr Mayweather, if you want your pound for pound title back, you're going to have to fight for it. And the only way that is going to happen is if you get realistic about things and just fight.
